Essential Dog: Samantha has a science background with a passion for green chemistry, product formulation and natural health. She is an avid dog lover and owner so it made sense for her to combine her passions.

Aurora Pets: What was the inspiration behind Essential dog?
Essential Dog: Essential Dog was inspired by the ancient art of the apothecary look and smell, from a time where synthetic and chemically laden cosmetics existed.

Aurora Pets: What is the goal of Essential dog?
Essential Dog: The goal of Essential Dog is to provide pet owners with high-quality natural dog grooming products that are free from synthetic fragrances, sulfates and parabens. Essential Dog prides itself on the therapeutic grade and quality of the essential oils in their products. The stringent quality assurance of our ingredients ensures their products will not irritate even the most sensitive skin.

Essential Dog: Essential Dog was developed through two years of intense scientific research drawing upon the expertise of cosmetic chemists, veterinarians, and naturopaths.

Aurora Pets: Can you tell us about the ingredients you use in your products?
Essential Dog: Essential Dog use EcoCert Approved cleansers, 100% pure essential oils, 7 certified organic plant extracts, Vitamin E natural and contains not fillers or acetates.

Aurora Pets: Are your Essential oils safe to use around dogs?
Essential Dog: Yes, our essential oils are safe to use around dogs. We formulate each product and analyse our essential oils using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. The results from our analysis dictate the safe levels of essential oils in each product to ensure our oils will not irritate your dog. Our 100% pure essential oil blends are designed to be used in an infuser and only 1-2 drops are needed and are totally safe to vaporise if your dog is at home.

Essential Dog: The sensitive dog grooming range contains extra extracts and oils for dogs that are prone to sensitivities and irritations. It contains Bisabolol Natural which is the oil derived from the Brazilian Candeia tree bark combined with Certified Organic Comfrey extract. This combination of these two ingredients is a super counter-irritant and great for dogs with itchy skin.
